There is a plague of potholes across Derbyshire. They damage vehicles. The government says it has provided money to the council to fix the potholes - but there are still thousands of them.
When the potholes are filled, the patches don't last long. We feel it would be more economic to do a lasting ‘proper’ repair. So far this year Derbyshire County Council have paid out over two million pounds in compensation due to potholes causing damage.
Repairing potholes promptly reduces the claims against the Council, repairing them properly saves long term revenue

Fill the potholes
We call on the County Council to address the plague of potholes and use the government's pothole money to make lasting repairs (not just patching up).
When the team have been out and about, we report not just potholes but also missing road signs, lamp posts not working, yellow lines that have become unstuck, blocked gullies, and faded or unclear markings.
Anyone can report these to the County Council at: Report a road fault or ask about a road issue - Derbyshire County Council or using an app on your phone such as FixMyStreet.com and through their website www.fixmystreet.com where you can also see what has already been reported.
